Undecylenic acid is an unsaturated fatty acid derived from castor oil, which has broad applications in many aspects. This study introduces the prepration of undecylenic acid and the applications of its derivants in biomedical industry, including antimicrobial drugs, the synthesis of antineoplastic drugs and antibiotics, insect pheromones and repellants, intermediates of other medicines and antibacterial polyurethane.
