摘要
阎连科获得卡夫卡文学奖后,其作品,尤其是代表作《受活》的英译本很快成为文学翻译领域关注的焦点。于是,文学翻译应选择何种方法和理念成为热烈讨论的话题。本文以阎连科代表作品《受活》的英译本为例,探究目标语翻译家罗鹏如何充分发挥自觉性,为达意而"活译"《受活》,时而大胆转换,时而灵活增减,时而凸显意境,时而又创造新词,从而突破了诸多文化隔阂,将这部作品成功介绍到了英语世界。
Yan Lianke's novels,especially the English version of Shou Huo,namely Lenin's Kisses,soon were in the spotlight of literary translation after Yan reaped Kafka Prize for Literature.Therefore,the adoption of appropriate method and theory for translation became a hot topic.This paper aims at exploring how Carlos Rojas,the translator of Yan's fiction,exerted his initiative in the translation of this work.He used translation strategies like transformation,adding and deletion,coinage and free translation to bridge the cultural gap between China and English-speaking countries,and finally introduced this Chinese literary work into the English world successfully.
