Defamiliarization aims to break conventional conceptions the reader hold for a certain literary work. With novel changes in form, the work gradually increases the perceptive difficulties and time for readers, evoking their desire for the aesthetic appreciation and prolonging a quite interesting reading process which is supposed to be boring in the first place. In another word, the function of defamiliarization is to "wake up" the reader and prolong their aesthetic distance. On the basis of same or similar linguistic form in English and Chinese, Analogical Translation is designed to first infer the aesthetic distance equivalent to that in the original and then made it represented similarly. Such a technique electrifies what is supposed to be dead in readers, conveying the artistic essence of the original to the target.
