外资银行在华省级区域区位选择研究

In Which Provinces Do Foreign Banks Choose to Locate Themselves?

以往文献对于银行对外直接投资区位选择的研究大多集中在国家层面,区域层面的研究较为少见。本文整合银行对外直接投资区位选择的相关理论,并在此基础上建立了外资银行在华投资区位选择的理论框架,使用条件logit模型检验了外资银行在华省级区域进入决策的影响因素。实证结果显示:外资银行在华投资在省域水平上极不平衡,其区位选择受到区位优势因素、集聚因素和制度因素的影响。此外,港资银行与其他外资银行在区位选择决策上存在显著差异。

Based on a comprehensive study of location choice, we establish a theoretical framework for where foreign banks choose to set up their locations in different regions of China. We used conditional logit regression to study the determinants of foreign banks＇ location choices in China at the provincial level.The result shows that foreign banks＇ regional distribution in China is unbalanced. The choice of location is influenced by location advantages of the different regions, agglomeration, and institutional factors. In addition, there is a significant difference between the location choices of banks from Hong Kong and foreign countries.
