《麦田里的守望者》两译本对比研究——基于语料库视角

The Contrastive Analysis of Two Translations of the Catcher in the Rye Based on the View of Corpus

《麦田里的守望者》是塞林格唯一的长篇小说,以20世纪50年代初期美国在二战后大发横财、物质富足为时代背景,用第一人称叙述形式描绘了一个十六岁少年霍尔顿在离开学校和家庭后,独自闯荡成人世界的心路历程。语料库研究方法兴起于20世纪80年代,是一种自上而下的,以真实文本为素材,以概率统计为方法的实证性研究。文章利用Wordsmith以及Antconc语料库检索软件对自建语料库从词汇和句法上进行量化分析,进而对译文与源语之间的差异以及翻译文本与非翻译文本之间的差异和这些差异产生的原因进行定量分析。研究发现,两种译本在某些方面表现出较高一致性,但是各自又表现出独特的风格。

The Catcher in the Rye is a long novel which is written by Salinger. The novel is based on the early 1950 s when the United States has a large amount of wealth after the Second World War. The novel is written in the form of the first person narrative and depicts a young boy named Holden. He is a 16 year old boy who leaves school and family in order to have a journey alone. Corpus research methods emerge in the 1980 s. It is a top- down research method with real text as the material and based on statistics. We use Wordsmith and Ant Conc as the search engine to analyze vocabulary and syntax of self-built comparable corpus in a quantitative way,to show the difference between the source language and the translated text and the difference between none translated text and the translation text and to analyze these differences in a quantitative way. The study finds that the two translation texts in some degree show high consistency,but also show the unique style of their own.
