《马可波罗行纪》中对上都城方位的精确记录,说明马可波罗确实到过内蒙古。马可波罗在投奔忽必烈大汗的沿途中,对所见宝石、香料、丝绸、纸钞、动物、风俗等进行了记录。历史证明,马可波罗对诸如骆驼、琉璃、银矿、察罕脑儿、黑首羊、尚白传统、灵魂转世、僧道、巫师、星者、吃马肉、十二生肖纪年、驿站的记载,既可以从中外古籍中找到证据,也可从田野调查中找到例证。

There are records of the precise location Xanadu in The Travels of Marco Polo,which tells that Macao Polo had been in Inner Mongolia. In going off to Kublai Khan,Polo recorded the precious stones,spices,silk,currency paper,animals,customs etc.. The records of the camels,coloured glaze,silver deposit,Tchagannor,black- head sheep,upholding white tradition,soul incarnation,monks,sorcerers,chaldeans,twelve symbolic animals calendar,post stations by Macao Polo could be founded evidence both in the Sino- foreign ancient books,and through the field investigations.
