试论蔡焌年的心理学翻译与贡献

A Tentative Discussion on Tsai Sylvia Chun-nien's Translation of Psychology and Her Contributions

20世纪80年代,蔡焌年汉译了英国学者玛格丽特·唐纳德逊的名著《儿童的智力》,不仅丰富了国内对皮亚杰学说的了解,而且传递了维果茨基的理论内容及学术动态信息。她还英译了《人类的智能》、《中国心理学史》"绪论"、《心理学大词典》"中国心理学史分卷条目",对中国本土心理学学术观点的传播以及为中国心理学走向世界做出了贡献。蔡焌年在心理学翻译过程中的客观、谨慎与求真的精神,对中外心理学学术交流的翻译工作起到了示范作用。

In the 1980s, Tsai Sylvia Chun-nien translated Children＇s Intelligence by a British scholar Margaret Donaldson into Chinese, which not only enriched the knowledge of Piaget＇s doctrines by the scholars in China, but also transmitted the information of academic trends of Vygotsky＇s theoretical contents. She also translated such works into English as The Human Intelligence, ＂Introduction＂ to History of Chinese Psychology and the ＂sub-vol- ume entries of History of Chinese Psychology＂ in the Dictionary of Psychology, having contributed to the diffusion of academic standpoints of Chinese psychology, and to the ＂going out to the world＂of Chinese psychology. Tsai Syl- via Chun-nien＇s spirit of objectivity, prudence and pursuit of truth has set a model and exerted a demonstration effect for translating work in academic communication of psychology between China and the rest of the world.
