Reference librarian plays an important role in the aspects of establishing good image and improving the service level of university library. Comparing with reference librarian and public relations personnel,this paper elaborates the professionalism the reference librarian should possess when taking up reference counseling,analyzes the importance of university library public relations and the relationship between reference librarian and the reader,finally reveals the significant role of reference librarian.
