Silence is the typical feature of Harold Pinter’s drama and the essence of Pinter-style. This paper explores the various reasons for Pinter’s path to becoming the silence master from childhood,adolescence and middle age and briefly reveals the occurrence law of silence in his different creation periods,the relationship between silence and the artistic value and its role in the drama.
