Objective to explore the relationship between general self-efficacy and parental self-efficacy, with parenting self-efficacy of this specific self-efficacy as the research object. Methods By cluster sampling from three kindergartens in the sample of 317 mothers of children as subjects, they were investigated with a research tool which included the parental self-efficacy scale, general self-efficacy scale and parenting stress scale. Results The general self-efficacy was positively correlated with parental self-efficacy(r=0.44, P0.01).There was a significantly negative correlation(r =-0.25, P 0.01) between the general self-efficacy and parenting stress. So was(r =-0.31, P 0.01)between parental self-efficacy and parenting stress. The path coefficient of general self-efficacy directly predicting parenting pressure was-0.14(P0.05), and parental self-efficacy path coefficient in the prediction of parenting stress was-0.30(P0.01). Conclusion The parental self-efficacy played a partial mediating role between general self-efficacy and parenting stress, namely the general self-efficacy both directly influenced the parenting stress, and affected parenting stress by the parental self-efficacy.
