Natural orifice specimen extraction surgery,a minimally invasive modality,facilitates a rapid recovery of patients. Compared with conventional laparoscopic surgery,this mothed is characterized by specimen extraction through the natural orifice as well as the unique reconstruction of the digestive tract. The popularization of this technique promotes the accumulation of surgical skills and its postoperative outcomes are satisfactory. For the improvement of this technique,it is necessary to establish a system of technical specifications,which also requires the combination of anatomy,surgical skills and surgical strategies. This review describes the author＇s experience with this technique.
