预设理论与《红楼梦》第十七回翻译——以杨宪益和霍克斯译文为例

Presupposition Theory and Translation of 17th Chapter of A Dream of Red Mansions——A Case Study of YANG Xian-yi and Hawkes' Translation Versions

《红楼梦》是中国古典文学的瑰宝,其黄译本是翻译学研究的热点,预设分为语义预设和语用预设,其中语用预设又可分为语境预设和文化预设。以《红楼梦》第17回的原文以及多个译本的译文为对象,通过分析不同预设对于翻译的影响,结果发现预设理论对于翻译具有相当大的指导和制约作用。

As a treasure of Chinese classical Literature,A Dream of Red mansions translation versions have become a hotspot of research on translation.Presupposition can be divided into semantic presupposition and pragmatic presupposition,pragmatic presupposition can be divided into content presupposition,and cultural presupposition.Taking the original text of the seventeenth chapter of A Dream of Red Mansions and the original text of various versions as objects,and analyzing the influence of different presuppositions on translation,it is found that presupposition theory has considerable guidance and restraining effect for translation.
