On Tea and Zheng Gu's Life Feelings

茶因其"淡、洁、雅"的禀性特质与中国传统文化的思想内涵相通,深受古代文人喜爱,品茗赋诗成为文人津津乐道的雅事。自唐代起,茶风大兴,文人创作了大量的咏茶诗,据统计,《全唐诗》中涉及茶事的诗歌不下400首。茶风与诗风相映成趣,都是特定的时代精神的产物,两者都有着必然的内在联系。梳理郑谷所写咏茶诗,剖析晚唐的时代背景对其产生的重大影响,以及其以茶雅志、借茶抒怀的人生意趣。

Tea, with much in common with some ideological connotation of Chinese traditional culture for its natural dispositions of insipidness, cleanness and elegance, was deeply popular with ancient scholars. Writing and chanting poems turned to be an elegant thing that the scholars indulge in elaborating on. Tea forges the indissoluble bound with poems. Since the Tang Dynasty, energetic encouragement of the practice of drinking tea resulted in a lot of poem on tea. Included in ＂The Complete Collection of Tang Poems＂ are 400 poems, in which poets drank and commented on tea in an effort to relieve their boredom and express their emotion. The practice of tea drinking and poems chanting, which form a delightful contrast and between which there is inevitable inner link, are both the products of the specific time spirits. The article attempts to sort out all the poems on tea by Zheng Gu, and analyzes the significant impact of the times background of Late Tang Dynasty on them, as well as their life interestes of cultivating elegant integrity and expressing their emotion via tea.
