Purge and trap gas chromatography / mass spectrometry is widely applied in analysis of environmental samples,the report of the technology in the study of volatile organic compound becomes more and more common.The application of the PT / GC / MS in the analysis of volatile organic compounds in the environment water samples and soil samples in the recent years was cited,the advantages and disadvantages of the technology were drawn,to provide a reference for the environmental testing services for better use of the technology.
