杭州方言属吴语区太湖片方言。杭州方言英译,对于传播杭州地域文化,促进杭州对外交流具有重要意义。方言是特定区域环境中使用的地方语言,其翻译必须结合特定语境进行。杭州方言英译时要尽可能保留杭州方言和文化方面的"乡土情调",根据不同语境,采取以源语文化为取向的异化翻译策略,或采取以译语文化为取向的归化翻译策略。通过揭示杭州方言和英语之间的文化差异,以向译语受众展现真正的杭州文化魅力。

Hangzhou dialect is a branch of the North Wu dialect.The English translation of Hangzhou dialect is of great significance for the promotion of Hangzhou local culture and culture exchange.Dialect is the form of a language that is spoken in the local area,so the translation is always made in a specific context.Great efforts should be made to keep ＂the local sentiment＂ of the Hangzhou dialect and culture.According to the different context,the source culture–oriented foreignizing translation strategy or the target culture – oriented domesticating translation should be adopted.The target audience will be charmed by Hangzhou＇s culture through revealing the cultural difference of Hangzhou dialect and English.
