模糊限制语及其在商务英语写作中的语用价值研究

模糊限制语作为自然语言的一个普遍现象,在近几十年间得到了越来越多语言学家的关注。由于模糊限制语多出现在口语体中,所以人们对其在书面语体中的研究相对较少。在商务英语写作中,人们往往认为应当追求语言表达的精确性,其实许多情况下,由于缺乏具体数据,出于礼貌以及对事件不确定等各因素都有可能使写作者采用一些模糊的语言。本文从模糊限制语的语用功能角度出发,分析了其在商务英语写作中的价值。

As linguistic universals, hedges have aroused more and more attention by linguists in recent decades. Due to the massive existence in colloquialism, researches based on hedges in written language are relatively less. in business English writing, hedges are as necessary as the accuracy of expression because of the uncertainty, polite- ness or lack of specific data in some cases. In this article, the author analyzes pragmatic function of hedges, and how they are used in business English writing.
