我国远程开放教育要在实践中履行文化传承的使命与责任,探索具有远程教育特点的文化建设模式,需要教育参与者形成共同的价值追求,构筑广泛的社会认同,培育全球意识和国际视野,达到高度的文化自觉。从而满足全面提高国民素质,服务于人的全面发展和学习型社会建设对远程教育服务的新期望。

Open and distance education in China should fulfill the mission and responsibility of cultural heritage and innovation in practice, and explore the cultural construction of the characteristics of distance education mode. It needs educational practitioners to form a common pursuit of value, build a wide range of social identity, foster global awareness and international perspective,and achieve the degree of cultural awareness, in order to comprehensively improve service quality in comprehensive human development and build a learning society.
