民族:穿越时空的想象——评《想象的共同体》增订本

Nationality: the Imagination beyond Time and Space——Read on the Revised Imagined Communities

本尼迪克特·安德森在其《想象的共同体:民族主义的起源与散布》一书中提出了民族是一种本质上被想象为有限的,同时也享有主权的政治共同体的中心论点。本文在对该书主要内容进行简要介绍的基础上,接着评析安德森对民族阐释的独到之处,最后着重从空间与时间两大维度对民族这一想象的共同体进行评析。

Benedict Anderson argued that nation was an imagined political community and imagined as both inherently limited and sovereign in his book Imagined Communities： Reflections on the Origin and Spread of Nationalism. This paper sketches main points of the book,analyzes Anderson＇s unique national interpretation,appreciates from two dimensions of space and time the imagined community of nation.
