The gentleman concept in ZhouYi is of typical significance in Chinese cultural history. Zhouyi has explored the objective laws of the changes and evolution of the complicated universe. Based on the propositions： ＂one Yin and one Yang constitute Dao＂ , and the holistic thinking： ＂ man is an integral part of nature＂ and ＂know the law of nature, and understand the human world＂ , it proposes that a gentleman should abide by the law of nature, practice the unyielding fighting spirit, form broadmindedness and pursue an ideal value of ＂ balance＂ , producing a unique gentleman concept of Yi-ology, which integrated but transcended the other the- ories of schools at that time. The gentleman concept of Zhou Yi has a decisive effect on the breeding, evolution and sublimation of Chinese national human spirit, which is of inspiring and educational significance for us today. Its precious contemporary value should be deeply excavated and vigorously carried forward.
