Coding Speech Acts for Their Degree of Directness from a Discursive Perspective: Method and Application

对言语行为的直接性程度进行标注通常是言语行为研究和礼貌研究的切入点。但现有的标注方法存在一定的局限性,它们或基于非自然语料,或操作性差,已经无法适应目前基于语料库研究的需要。本文通过考察现有的几种标注方法,根据话语视角,以一个言语行为的三个不同维度和若干范畴为基础,提出了一套新的标注系统,然后通过"不同意"言语行为实例描述该标注系统在研究中的具体应用,最后指出该标注系统的应用前景。

Coding speech acts for their degree of directness has long been considered a starting point in speech act and politeness research. Existing coding methods,however,are unsatisfactory for the current need of corpus-based studies in that they are mostly not based on naturally-occurring data or cannot be fully operationalized. Therefore,after reviewing mostly employed existing coding systems,the present study adopts a discursive approach and proposes a coding system which functions on three dimensions and several subsequent categories of a speech act. The procedure to operate the coding system is then explained using examples from the speech act of disagreement. Finally,implications are provided in terms of the application of the coding system.
