Xu Shichang and the Sovereignty of Eastern Boundary in the Late Qing Dynasty

日俄战争之后,日本占据南满,沙俄占据北满,图谋东三省主权。东三省藩篱不存,祸乱日深,徐世昌出任东三省总督的两年多时间里,以外交争东三省主权,以新军守东三省主权,以商战卫东三省主权,终大体保全了东三省之主权,在一定程度上遏制了日俄的入侵。

After the Russo- Japanese War（ 1904- 1905）,Japan occupied South Manchuria of China,and Russia occupied North Manchuria of China. They both attempted to take over the three provinces of northeast China. At that time,more and more disasters happened in eastern boundary. Xu Shichang has managed eastern boundary for more than 2 years. During the time,he struggled for the sovereignty of eastern boundary according to diplomacy,guarded the sovereignty of eastern boundary according to New Army and defended the sovereignty of eastern boundary according to Commercial Car. Finally he preserved the sovereignty of eastern boundary in general,and suppressed Japan and Russia to some extent.
