1998年10月的香港正热盼一座主题公园的降生。当时,香港立法会全票通过了一份兴建主题公园以振兴旅游业的议案,所以当得知迪士尼构思要在亚洲兴建全球第5个乐园后,香港立刻派出了旅游事务专员彻夜斡旋谈判,最终力压新加坡、珠海、上海等逐鹿者,风光迎娶了这位＂皇帝女儿＂。当年的＂聘礼＂堪称天价,香港不惜豪掷200多亿港元,甚至特修了一条专属铁路。

At present, The Walt Disney Company owns two theme parks in America and four overseas, with the latter include Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disneyland which is going to open on 16 th June. However, except for the Tokyo Disneyland, all these parks' proi tability is not satisfactory.Thus whether the upcoming Shanghai Disneyland will make money is in doubt. Related personnel said that the design of Shanghai Disneyland integrates both traditional and innovative factors, which will to some extent be de-Americanized.
