This paper studies the turning of Colin Rowe＇s attitude towards Modern Architecture by reviewing his writings from late 1950s to 1990s. It introduces and interprets his early view in the book review for Architecture： Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries by Henry- Russell Hitchcock, discusses the influence he received from post-war liberalist political philosophy, andanalyzes the final comprehensive diagnosis of Modern Architecture in his book The Architecture of Good Intentions： Towards a Possible Retrospect.
