HOW DOES COSMETIC SURGERY BECOME POSSIBLE IN CHINA？

2015年11月30日至12月1日，由广西民族研究学会、广西壮学学会主办，广西民族问题研究中心承办的广西民族研究学会第六届、广西壮学学会第四届会员代表大会暨学术研讨会，在南宁顺利召开。

This article depicts the history of cosmetic surgery in China from both the medical dimension and the cultural dimension in attempting to answer the question： how does cosmetic surgery become possible in China？ The popularity of cosmetic surgery in China, first of all, should be contributed to the development of medical technology which makes cosmetic surgery more and more accessible, even to ordinary people gradually. Meanwhile, the openness of the body and the legitimacy of beauty seeking provide the important cultural base for the acceptance of cosmetic surgery.
