The story of human-snake love and marriage is an important type of eccentric love story. It can be classified into two types： one in which a snake incarnates in the form of a man and falls in love with a woman in the human world; the other in which a snake incarnates in the form of woman and gets entangled romantically with a man. In the human-snake love stories of a thousand years, the images of male snake and female snake evolved differently, with male snake becoming obscene and atrocious, los- ing human characters, and female snake turning out to be more gentle and affectionately, presenting the conventional morality.
