Indian Divination Slips, published sometime between 1208 and1224 in the Song Dynasty, is the earliest surviving book with divination slip illustrations. It is composed of four parts: slip head, slip poem, slip picture and slip interpretation. It not only refl ects the relationship between divination slips and poems, but also signifies the scholar class' s control and guidance of the secular culture as well as the thought of taking Confucianism as the principal and Buddhism as a supplement.
