As the representatives of Russian Structuralism,Lotman examines the literariness to construct the internal structure of semantic opposition system and elaborates that the principle of repetition and metaphor make the core of the method of close reading. This method provides a reasonable basis for semantic analysis,model construction and literary theory reformation.
