通过分析哈金小说集《落地》有关华人新移民故事可知,在美的华人新移民的身份认同是一个复杂的过程,他们需要权衡历史在场与现实在场,在过去与当下之间寻找到一个合适的契合点,一方面要解决中华文化与美国文化间的冲突与碰撞,另一方面更要考虑到异质文化间的有效结合,从而在异地重新定位自我。

A Good Fall by Ha Jin,a collection of short stories about the adaptation of new immigrants from Chinese in the U.S.,shows that the construction of Chinese immigrants＇ identity in the U.S. is complicated. All immigrants from Chinese have been lingering between history and reality,between past and present. In order to construct their identity,they face the Sino-American cultural conflict,at the same time,they have to find the junction of different cultures.
