The present application status and realistic demand of emergency searching and rescue system were analyzed in China. The hardware and software of Hexrcopter system were introduced, especially the reserved IPS interface which could extend its functionality. The strategies and prospects in different kinds of disasters such as earthquake and fire hazard were discussed according to functional status of the multi-function rescue system based on Hexrcopter. The shortcomings of the system were pointed out for further improvement.
