The article focused on a sort of redundant spaces which are often ignored but commonly seen in the classical gardens of Suzhou. We classified this kind of spaces as 'Plants'Room' and interpreted their irreplaceable roles in creating garden spaces. Through analyzing its birth condition, constitution mechanics, organization approaches and spatial effects, the Suzhou classical garden was interpreted in a smaller and more humane spatial scale, and by refining the topological relationships of their spatial organization, we intended to provide the wisdom of Suzhou Classical Gardens for contemporary architectural practice.
