也谈文体与翻译——兼与林璋商榷

On Style and Translation——A Concurrent Discussion with Zhang Lin

时下日语界一些谈论文体翻译的文章,存在用语言学的观点强求文学翻译,但又忽视对当代汉语文体研究的倾向,结论也流于简单和表面,对人们学习、研究文体翻译未起到应有的启发和指导作用。本文根据现代汉语的产出过程和实际使用状况,从例句出发的观点,提出部分语体包括文艺语体可采取的翻译策略。结论是不应简单地根据语体概念,以口语语体词对译原作口语语体词。而应该根据具体情况,适度使用书面语体词对译部分原作口语语体的文字。

Recent Japanese studies on the translation of styles have the tendency to apply linguistic theories inappropriately to literature translation, neglect a close examination of modem Chinese styles, and finally come up with conclusions that are simple and superficial, which results in a very limited significance for the study of style translation. The present study proposes some applicable strategies for style translation （literature style included）, based on the production process and practical usage of modem Chinese, as well as sample sentence-oriented methods. It concludes that we should not mechanically translate words of spoken style in the original text exclusively with words of spoken style in the target language, rather, if the particular context requires, with appropriate words of written style.
