The Construction Theory of Ancient Min-nan Traditional Gardens

在历史发展的潮流之中,闽南传承自中原的历史传统,并部分吸收了来自异域的文化传统,逐渐形成本土的特色,营造的实例很多,造就了一批营造园林的楚翘。这一批园林的营造实践者有所感悟,并形成有一定代表性的营造理论,其中有的与中国其他地区的营造理论不谋而合,也有由于特殊的地理、气象、历史等因素而形成地域特有的营造习惯。

Minnan culture inherited historic tradition culture from the central China, absorbed the cultural tradition culture from foreign countries, and gradually formed its local culture features existing in many gardens in history. During that period, some excellent gardens produced a good batch of outstanding persons. These garden builders developed some representative theories in garden construction process, some of which coincided with garden construction theories in other parts of China, but differed in some methods because of the local unique special geography, meteorology, history and other factors.
