《新疆历史与民族宗教理论政策教程》是一门专为新疆高校在读青年大学生设置的地方性思想政治理论课。该课程的设置,可以引导大学生能够正确地认识新疆的历史和全面地了解新疆的区情,是增强当代大学生五个认同,树立"五观"的主渠道,是弘扬爱国主义的有效载体,是提升大学生理性认识问题、分析问题、解决问题的有效手段。尤其面对新疆新形势新变化,无疑体现出该课程的重要性。如何在有限的课时教学里,突出特色,使学生认可喜爱,是目前教学过程急需思考和研究的问题。

The course of ＂Xinjiang History and Ethnic Religious Policies＂ is a local-set course for college students in Xinjiang whose aim is at leading students into a correct recognition to the history of Xinjiang and promoting college students＇ ability to analyze and tackle ethnic problems they meet.
