石窟考古测绘在石窟考古工作中具有很重要的意义,为了科学、系统、准确、全面地反映石窟的历史遗迹,我们将绘制不同类型的测绘图来反映洞窟的结构、塑像、壁画内容。由于敦煌石窟群中具有不同形制的佛龛,不能在一个角度把龛内壁画内容全面地记录下来。考古绘图工作必须采用龛内展开这种特殊的测绘方法,将佛龛中的壁画内容客观、真实、全面地一一展开在画面上。

Archaeological mapping plays a very important role in cave archaeology. In order to scientifically and comprehensively represent the contents of the historical relics of caves, different types of survey maps have been created to show the structure and contents of the caves. Since there are different types of niches in the Dunhuang Caves, contents of murals inside niches cannot be recorded from a single angle. Therefore, the archaeological mapping method of drawing unfolding graphs of niche interiors must be applied. By using this method, the contents of the murals inside niches can be unfolded on paper authentically and comprehensively.
