As to the importance of ＂film education＂ in the film theoretical system, this paper clarifies ＂film education＂ from five perspectives： the significance in the ontological, educational, systematic, cultural or artistic and disciplinary sense. It is of important theoretical value and practical significance to speculate the concept ＂film education＂ rationally in constructing the disciplinary system of film education and reflecting the practices of film education.
