认知语言学视阈下英语现在进行体的语义网络

Semantic Network of English Present Progressive Aspect from the Perspective of Cognitive Linguistics

现在进行体作为英语体范畴的一种形式,历来为语言学家所关注,但学界对其多种用法却有不同解释,对其语义特征的统一描述并不多见。De Wit&Brisard基于Langacker的认知语法,将"认识偶然性"视为英语进行体的核心语义,构建了英语进行体的语义网络,并依据语料库对其进行分析。运用Sweetser的"语义三域"理论和Langacker的认知语法,对英语现在进行体的语义进行全面分析,并结合心智哲学中的意向性理论来诠释语义三域之间的演进关系,以期对De Wit和Brisard语义模型进行修正,并尝试构建英语现在进行体的认知语义网络。

As one form of English aspect,the present progressive aspect has been studied by linguists for years.However,the explanations to its various usages differ and the universal account of its semantic features is rare.In accordance with Langacker＇s cognitive grammar,De Wit Brisard（2014）regards＂epistemic contingency＂as its basic meaning and constructs a semantic network of English progressive aspect based on the analysis of the data from a spoken corpus.However,the semantic network has several shortcomings.Based on Langacker＇s cognitive grammar and Sweetser＇s anlysis of three semantic domains（Sweetser,1990）,this study gives a comprehensive account of the meanings of English present progressive and the relationships between the three semantic domains are elaborated from the perspective of intentionality in mind philodophy.This study is a remedial study of De Wit Brisard＇s model as well as an attempt on the construction of the semantic network of the English present progressive aspect.
