A Study On Iconicity of Tibetan Sign Language

基于斯瓦迪士207个核心词汇,分析研究象似性在藏族手语词汇层面的表现和特点,总结出七种象似手段:直接表达、数字表达所指、形状表达所指、动作表达所指、从其他语言系统借词(如藏语字母、汉字)、尺寸表达所指、隐喻或转喻表达所指。同时与《中国手语》进行词汇层面象似性的对比研究,探讨两者之间的异同点。

This study aims to analyze the behavior and characteristics of iconicity in Tibetan sign language. Based on the corpus of207 basic Swadesh words in Tibetan sign language,the following seven iconic devices are extracted： direct representation,representation using numbers,representation using shapes,representation using movements,representation via other language systems such as letters or characters for transcribing Tibetan characters,representation through the signs facilitating sound communication,and representation by creating a related situation. We also compare the iconicity in Tibetan sign language to the ones in the book of Chinese sign language,to explore the similarities and differences between them.
