Influencing Factors of Public Library Development in Poverty-stricken Counties in China——An Exploratory Study Based on Grounded Theory

文章运用扎根理论探讨影响我国贫困地区公共图书馆事业发展的因素。通过对26个国家级贫困县图书馆负责人进行电话访谈,整理出文本记录;用扎根理论方法对访谈资料进行编码,揭示影响贫困地区公共图书馆事业发展的主范畴,建立主范畴之间的关系模型,研究表明:法制建设、政府投入、自然条件、人口素质、居民收入水平是重要的影响因素。

In this paper,the factors affecting the development of public libraries in poverty-stricken counties are discussed with grounded theory. Records are made on the basis of phone interviews with 26 library directors from poverty-stricken counties, and then texts are encoded with grounded theory to indicate the main categories of influencing factors of public libraries in poverty-stricken counties and to establish the relational model of the main categories. The finding shows that the influencing factors include legal construction, government investment,natural conditions, population quality and residents income level; library performance evaluation contains tangible and intangible performance; social concern and support can promote the development of library.
