人们对一座城市的识别往往不是从精神层面的非物质文化开始,而是从城市的街巷建筑、风景名胜、饮食男女等物质形态文化进入的。都市文学作品倘若能够把这些城市符号识名性描写出来,无疑可以起到凸显城市文化特性的作用。在当代都市文学写作中,关于北京、上海、武汉等城市的识名性描写已经引起作家们的浓厚兴趣,相比之下,关于广州的识名性描写少有作家关注,其结果是广州的文学形象比较模糊。

People＇s recognition of a city is often not from the beginning of intangible cultural of the spirit level, but from the physical culture of City Street building,scenic spots and the natural instincts of man and woman. If the name of the city＇s symbols can be described,the urban literature works will undoubtedly play a prominent role in promoting urban cultural characteristics. In the contemporary urban literature writing,the identification description of Beijing,Shanghai,Wuhan and other cities have arouse the writers＇ interest. In contrast,there are few writers concerning about the identification description of Guangzhou. The result is that the literature image of Guangzhou is vague.
