活动理论视野下的主题单元教学探索——以新加坡安德逊初级学院为例

Teaching and learning using a thematic approach:From the Perspective of Activity Theory——A Case Study of Anderson Junior College H1 Chinese

活动教学是当代教育中重要的教学形态,它重视活动的独特价值,强调活动在学生学习过程中的重要作用。本文旨在针对新加坡的二语环境,以新加坡高中H1华文新课程之核心主题单元《家国之情》为样例,探讨一套以活动教学理论模式为依据的活动课教学流程与策略。这套活动教学流程包括了简单的外显用手操作到复杂的内隐思维活动,也包括了个人活动和群体活动,种种活动的设计都是在引导学生展开探索,让学生在趣味性、知识性的学习活动中通过亲身体验去建构发现,进而领悟和创造。论文主要介绍此主题单元之活动教学的设计与实践,并在实践教学中观察学生表现与教学成果,目的在于建设一套具有可操作性的活动教学策略,为高中语文的主题单元教学提供另一个教学选择,以有效提升教师的教学效率,并提升学生的思维能力、语文技能和人文素养。

Activity in teaching is an important component in teaching today. It emphasizes the significant value of activity and its role in students＇ learning process. In Singapore, the new curriculum of Pre-University H1 Chinese Language adopts a thematic approach in its underlying curriculum philosophy. This paper aims to use the core module of ＂Nation and Society＂ as a model to explore the use of activity in de- signing authentic language learning environments for students in a second language context, while promo- ting student-centricity. The series of learning activities ranges from simple and explicit hands-on activities to more complex and implicit activities involving critical thinking, and also involves both self-directed and collaborative learning. The activities are designed to guide students to experience, explore, understand and create new knowledge in an interesting learning environment. This paper will introduce the design and implementation of activity in teaching in the core module ＂Nation and Society＂. We will also share observations of students＇ performance and learning outcomes. Hopefully, such a practical teaching strategy involving the use of activities will help to provide an addi- tional teaching option, and to effectively enhance the efficiency of teachers, as well as improve students＇ thinking skills, language skills and cultural literacy.
