Research on the phenomenon of “Phonetic Signs Turning into Pictogram Signs”in Early Pictophonetic Characters: Based on Oracle Bone Scripts

通过甲骨文探讨汉字早期形声字,可以发现"声符形化"是早期形声字的一个重要构形特征,也是甲骨文等古文字的一条基本构造规律。认识并利用这一早期形声字的构造规律,有助于考释甲骨文字,也有利于揭示形声字的产生机制,丰富汉字的构形理论。

A probe into the special construction of the early pictophonetic characters based on oracle bone scripts indicates that the phenomenon of ＂phonetic signs turning into pictogram signs＂ is one of the most important configuration features of the early pictophonetic characters, and is also an important structural rule of such ancient languages as oracle bone scripts. Understanding the structural rule of early pictophonetic charac- ters may help conduct the textual research on oracle bone scripts, reveal the generating mechanism of picto- phonetic characters, and enrich the configuration theory of Chinese characters.
