Xinjiang region was historically located along the "Silk Road". Uygur medicine in Xinjiang deeply exchanged with both eastern and western medical systems. About 80% of the source plants of Uygur medicine were not native plants. Through an intensive literature survey, this research thoroughly analyzed the origin of the non-native species. We found that in Uygur Medicine, besides the local source and from Chinese materia medica, there were also plants from Arabic region,India,Pakistan, west Asia,America and Africa. Under the"One belt and one road"economic policy of Chinese government, taking the advantage of geography and culture,Uygur medicine has a big chance of development.
