＂Author on the Scene＂refers to the special technique in documentaries production nowadays which involves the author coming into the scenes.It evolves out of the American New Documentaries Movement, which opposes the ＂non-participant＂aesthetics of ＂traditional movies＂, challenges the objective principle adopted by traditional documentaries and tries to redefine it.This creative technique invests little trust in the existence of truth and aims at reconstructing reality by exposing lies. By adopting the technique of ＂author on the scene＂, authors have been involved in social affairs in a pragmatic way. In a certain way, it makes sense to adopt this technique in documentaries making.
