Augustine put forward the concept of" Two Cities"——the Earthly and the Heavenly, and talked about the origins of two cities in The City of God.According to Augustine, angles and human beings composed the city of god, while they served the God as the one and the only king.He believed that devout Christians were sojourners in the earthly city, however they were permanent residents in the city of god.The concept of Two Cities was closely related to the identity of Christians.Furthermore, it has a significant influence on the history of Christianity. Also this topic still has plenty of room for discussion.
