汉英语言的形合意合差异比较与互译策略探讨

A Comparative Study of the Parataxis and Hypotaxis Difference in Chinese and English and the Strategies of Mutual Translation between the Two Languages

形合意合是汉英两种语言的主要区别,也是汉英互译理论与实践研究领域的一个主要议题。英语侧重"形合",汉语侧重"意合"。在汉英互译上,必须考虑到汉英各自的形意特点与差异,可以采用连词与连接词的省略与添加、代词的省略或添加、介词的添减及其与动词的词性互换、树状与竹状结构的互换等翻译策略,从而达到有效翻译。

The parataxis and hypotaxis is the main difference between Chinese and English. It is also a major subject in the area of studying translation theories and translation practices. English emphasizes hy-potaxis, while Chinese tend to parataxis. It is necessary to take into account the characteristics and differences between two languages in the aspect of hypotaxis and parataxis when translating from English to Chinese and Chinese to English, and to adopt several translation strategies such as conjunctions＇ and pro-nouns＇ addition or omission, prepositions＇ usage and a interchange of tree-ike pattern and bamboo-like pattern, so as to achieve the aim of translating effectively.
