大英帝国和沙皇俄国之间的大角逐开始于19世纪后半期,并持续到第一次世界大战结束以及苏联的崛起。在此期间,他们之间的相互抵制、相互牵制、相互渗透甚至向对方制造麻烦是斗争的主要形式。然而,新疆以及整个中亚是他们秘密斗争的主要场所。文章主要探讨大英帝国在中华民国初期新疆和中亚地区进行的秘密活动。

The Great Game between the Britain and Tsarist Russia gradually began in the second half of the nineteenth century, and continued until the end of the First World War and the rise of the Soviet Union. During this period, their main struggle forms were mutual of resistance, ofrestraint,of penetration andeven troubles, caused by opposite side. However, Xinjiang and Central Asia were the main stages of their secret struggle. This paper mainly discusses the secret activities of the British Empire in Xinjiang and Central Asia in the early period of the Republic of China.
