The paper discussed the countermeasures to strengthen the prevention of inpatient suicide and improve patient safety. In the aspect of building nurses team, importance should be attached to the cultivation of suicide ＂gatekeeper＂ team and the development of a suicide prevention training program in hospi- talized patients. In the aspect of promoting nursing regulatory framework, importance should be attached to improving the nursing management system of inpatient suicide prevention, implementing the scientific and standardized inpatient suicide nursing routine, fulfilling contingency plans and procedures of inpatient suicide. In the aspect of nursing research,importance should be attached to strengthening prevention theory and practice of inpatients, promoting the rapidly development of patient safety management.
