A Study on Improvement of English Application Skills in Local Colleges Against the Background of Transformational Development

本文基于人本主义教育理论,从地方本科院校大学英语教学的现状出发,探讨了地方高校在转型发展背景下提高英语应用技能的路径和模式。文章从分层分类教学管理、教学内容改革、教学模式创新、课内外教学优化整合、应用技能型师资队伍建设、评价机制多元化等方面,深入系统地论述了地方本科院校学生英语应用技能提升的一系列改革措施和对策,对于地方本科院校构建应用型大学英语教学理论体系具有重要的指导意义和作用。

Based on humanistic education theory, this paper analyzes the strengths and weaknesses in present college English teaching and learning in the local undergraduate colleges, and illustrates the path and mode of improving the students＇ English application skills against the background of transformational development. From the aspects of graded and classified college English teaching, the innovation of teaching model, the optimal integration of English teaching both inside and outside class, and the teaching evaluation system, it discusses and concludes on the measures and strategies in improving the students＇ Eng- lish application skills in the local undergraduate universities, which will hopefully contribute to the construction of an effective college English teaching system.
