摘要
杨·马特尔的小说《少年派的奇幻漂流》和李安对该小说的电影改编表达了不同的主题。小说围绕"存活"的话题展开,揭示了作为存活之道的理性与信仰的统一和平衡。李安的电影更关注跨文化的宗教体验,淡化对理性力量的描写的同时,加大了对宗教氛围的渲染以及对宗教信仰的思考,表现了不同宗教的融合以及它们所具有的救赎作用。马特尔的文学创作受到加拿大文学的"存活"主题的影响,李安的电影离不开他具有的东西文化的背景。
Yann Martel＇s novel Life of Pi and Ang Lee＇s movie Life of Pi are different in terms of theme. The novel is focused on the topic of survival, seeking to reveal the secret to human survival, which is the harmony of reason and faith. The movie is centered on faith only, or the intercultural experience of different faiths. It gives little emphasis on the power of reason but more on the presentation of and reflection on faiths, especially the mix of different faiths and the redemption of man through faith. Martel＇s novel is influenced by the theme of Canadian literature while Ang Lee＇s movie is another attempt at expressing his view on cross-cultural experience from a new perspective.
