根据地理、历史、文化等背景因素及由此造成的民间音乐风格特点的不同,可以把河北民间音乐大体分为冀中、冀南、冀西北、冀东四个色彩区。"冀东音乐色彩区"受东北文化影响,具有浓郁的"呔儿"味;"冀西北音乐色彩区"深染晋、蒙音乐文化特点,具有高原、山区音乐文化色彩;"冀南音乐色彩区"深受豫地文化影响;"冀中音乐色彩区"受京城文化影响而销蚀掉了自己的特色。河北音乐文化的总体风格特点,古人总结为"慷慨悲歌"。

According to the background factors of geography, history and culture resulting different style characteristics of folk music, Hebei folk music can be divided into four color areas： Central part, South one, Northwest, and East. The ＂music color area of Hebei East part＂, under the influence of culture in the Northeast China, has the strong taste of ＂dai er＂; the ＂music color area of Hebei Northwest part＂, close to the music cultural features of Shanxi and Mongolian, has the music culture color of plateau and mountain; the ＂music color area of Hebei South part＂ is influenced by the culture of Henan; the ＂music color area of Hebei Central part＂ lost its own character- istics since the effect of Beijing culture. For the overall style features of Hebei music culture, the ancients summed up as ＂Kangkai Beige＂ （＂Sing with Passionate Sorrow＂）.
